The heart beat of Love

Life without love is like a tree without fruits they say,

Life without love is like a tree without roots I say,

No matter how much the rain waters it, I say,

It remains just that, a lifeless log, just to say,

 

They say it is for better or for worse,

But for better and for the best I choose,

Because even in the toughest of seasons,

By faith we shall overcome I trust.

 

It is not perfection I looked for,

It is honesty I yearned for,

Love, a key that opens gateways,

The kind focusing not on flaws.

 

I shied to accept the love initially,

You see I needed a strong conviction internally

But now I can express myself externally

And that I'll do eternally.

 

I wanted to describe my love,

I sought words and found none,

Mind, spirit, soul, body all on move,

Towards a heart that deserves love.

 

Many came and left I Know,

But I have come to stay now you know,

I have come to make special memories,

I have come we make life together.

 

On our journey to forever,

With our hearts synced together,

we can achieve much together,

If we commit to walk together.

UNAPPRECIATED

She's last to rest, 

She's first to rise, 

Breakfast is fixed, 

Children are set. 

 

She ensures everyone is set, 

Taken their portion and ready for the day, 

Kids are taken to school timely, 

She's back and her day just begins. 

 

She cleans your home carefully, 

Singing along she does the laundry, 

The flowers are watered perfectly,

Rabbits and chicken are fed fully. 

 

You are back home and dinner is ready, 

Kids have been showered and everything is in order, 

You take your dinner, give strict instructions and head to bed, 

She can't comment or ask any question and lo, she's left alone. 

 

Did you enquire from her about her day? 

She wished to have a talk but like any other day, you weren't in moods, 

Her mother is sick and admitted and she's worried about it, 

You haven't paid her full two months salary and she's badly in need. 

 

The family is calling and the bill is pilling, 

She's the only one working in her family, 

Their rich dad passed away some years ago, 

Relatives grabbed their property and chased them away. 

 

She's diligent in her work, 

Organised and very responsible, 

Loves the kids and they love her back, 

Sunday school taught her to respect her master. 

 

She's not allowed to dine with your family, 

Neither can she partake from the same pot, 

You over work and under feed her, 

Your kids secretly wish you treated their aunty better. 

 

Her pillow is ever wet with tears, 

She's cried to God to intervene her situation, 

She's prayed to God for your family, 

She's believed that one day things will change. 

 

She's your domestic manager, 

Custodian of your children, 

She cooks your food and cleans your house,  

Doesn't she deserved better than you give?😞

TESTED LOVE

we are not always together, 

Life at times keeps us distant, 

But that is not of any bother, 

Our friendship is still stout.

 

Having you in my life is pleasure, 

From God you are a treasure, 

So much in life we had to endure, 

And this far God's grace has been sure.

 

Walking before, you showed the way, 

At times I know it was not easy, 

But what are sisters for anyway? 

The price indeed you willingly chose to pay,

 

Arguing at times but never torn apart, 

 Amazing in everyway you are, 

 Greatly admiring and looking up to you, 

 Loving you unconditionally,

 

When in need you are there for me, 

On your knees you help fight spiritual battles, 

When I am down you comfort me, 

In my celebrations you rejoice with me.

 

And my prayer for you everyday, 

That God will keep you strong each day, 

 Each good deed he will repay, 

And His love will manifest each day.

 

I loved you yesterday, 

I love you today, 

I will love you everyday.

THE SACRIFICIAL CUT

They think it is about morality,
And that the cut comes with responsibility,
But lo! It's a forced sacrifice,
Accompanied by pain and tears,
My heart deeply bleeds for the affected,
Yes, the victims of FGM.

Future becomes a hard road to walk through,
The wedding night _ a horrible night mare,
Don't forget about the baby`s birth,
For it is an automatic woman`s destruction I say,
The pain, the agony, sorrows and the bursts,
To the innocent woman who had no choice against it.

Aunty and mommy never talked of the risks there of,
Complications like haemorrhage and urinary infections,
They didn't even mention obstetric fistula,
And yes, millions of depressed women due to the cut,
Not mentioning lives lost through FGM,
Let's save our sisters and daughters_Say no to FGM.

From the deepest of my thoughts,
Meditations that run through the nights,
I got a strong presentment,
You are more than just a confidant.

Your love is forever real,
Intentions are such a deal,
And your heart so real,
with love, our hearts we seal.

Your love is like a rill,
Yes, a stream down a hill,
Flowing without ceasing,
And yet, keeping focus.

I love your confidence,
the lovely look through my eyes,
Reflecting the sincerity in your heart,
Did I say you are such pleasant?

Always falling in love with your passion,
Your altitude and determination,
Your consistency keeps me in motion,
Yes, a heart on a mission.

I love your sincerity,
comes with lots of security,
With wisdom you tell the reality,
who wont fall for integrity?

I loved you yesterday,
I love you today,
Tomorrow, I will still love you,
Forever our hearts we shall share_my Valentine.

GONE TO THE DOGS

Only during the crusades,
And all dogmatic drives,
sweet convincing assurances,
And oaths of candidness,
With some "sugar coated" carrots,
All to earn our ballots

And once again like before,
So good to negate: an offer
with minds summed up in penury,
The citizenry falls for the tender,
Overlooking that aday will mature,
When w'will have to reimburse.

Dawns a day not bright again,
All great dreams drowned in an ocean,
Never to be remembred once again,
As the undertaker forgets his undertaking,
And the citizenry has to bear the pain,
Of accepting to trade his being.

Embezzlement of resources,
Ill use of treasuries,
All statutory offences,
Are our honourables first class developments,
with gigantic standing en' sitting stipends,
Forget not a tip if you need his services.

It is me , you and all,
To rise and kill this animal,
And hold a national burial,
assert our cries once and for all,
Our civil rights w' need to know,
Without which we'all hacks!

CURTAINS CLOSED

Glaring into the mirrow,
Closely monitoring any error,
Seems like what they call horror,
In a glance they've stolen my emperor.

I realise my eyes are somehow wet,
Didn't I know I had a date with the reality?
Quickly, I sought my cat pet,
From whom company I occasionally sought.

How could I lose my mind into this??
I had promised not to give it a thought??
Could I give my mind any credit??
Did my heart walk on merit??

Curtains closed and deals sealed,
Learning to live is learning to let go,
Difficult path but worth the course,
Closing the doors and on, I press.

Bruising and being bruised is natural,
Through it all, I have learned forgiveness
To my self and to others...
With that, the master`s peace reigns.

Curtains may close but the master unveils,
Hidden secrets and all kept in darkness,
In repenting he heals and cleanses,
The broken he makes and lost he restores.

Wondering who this master is or where he dwells??
Asking whether he's able to cleanse and accept you?
He's done to me and I invite you as well..
Come, taste see...the Lord is God.

MARRIAGE BUILD TO LAST

Wedding is just for a day,

But marriage is for a life time,

Ours is to celebrate with you today,

Yours is to make your marriage work from today.

Friends and relatives come and go...

Children come and go...

But your partner is here to stay,

To love till death do you part.

Today you are happy and joyful,

It's the celebration mood,

It may not be so every day.

Because life is not a straight line my friends

They say commitment is doing what you said you will do,

Long after the mood you said is gone,

Love and submit to one another,

Even when you feel you have the right not to.

Marriage is for two...

Learn to get your mathematics right

Respect and embrace that boundaries exist,

And communication keeps two together.

To the newly wedded bride,

It is said that a wise woman builds her own house,

and the opposite, destroys it...with her very own hands

Let that stick to your mind lest you forget.

I know you've heard of proverbs 31 woman,

The industrious and submissive one,

But of key is the weapon of prayer,

For on her knees all battles are won.

And to groom, now the husband,

Hold onto your position...

 head the family, as Christ heads the church,

And love unconditionally. Just like Christ loves the church.

As a prophet, prophesy to your family,

As a priest, offer sacrifices on its behalf,

As a pastor, teach God's word,

And that is your first assignment.

A wife is to be loved,

Cherished and adored...

With words seasoned with kindness,

Knowing that she's the weaker vessel.

Endeavour to make her proud she chose you.

And now unto God,

The foundation through which marriage is build,

May He be your ever present help,

And a pillar to hold your life together.
